The Legacy of Clarence Harris

The Clarence Harris Foundation was established to honor the life and legacy of Clarence Harris, a beloved father and family man whose battle with prostate cancer became the inspiration behind our mission. Clarence’s story is one shared by far too many men — prostate cancer discovered after it had already progressed, leaving his family wishing there had been more awareness, more conversations, and more urgency surrounding men’s prostate health.

His legacy is why we are committed to helping change that. We believe education, awareness, and early detection can save lives. Through community outreach, health screenings, education, and trusted resources, the Clarence Harris Foundation is committed to encouraging men to become proactive about their health, have important conversations with their healthcare providers, and understand their screening options.

Our work places special emphasis on reaching Black men, who are disproportionately affected by prostate cancer, while advocating for greater awareness and access to information for all men and the families who love them. Clarence’s story did not end with his passing. Through this foundation, his legacy continues with every conversation started, every man encouraged to get checked, and every family given information that could make a difference.
